Organization Grants

The purpose of the Medina County Arts Council (MCAC) Organization Grants is to provide Medina County with an enhanced and broadened cultural life. MCAC encourages and stimulates the practice and appreciation of the arts in Medina County and provides the people of Medina County with opportunities to participate in, experience, and enjoy the arts. One of MCAC’s role is to assist and support existing groups and individuals who are engaged in efforts designed to enhance the arts. MCAC provides this assistance through advocating for, supporting and nurturing the arts.

    • The requesting nonprofit organization must be located in Medina County.

    • The requesting organization must be an arts-focused non-profit with 501(c)(3) status or a not-for-profit educational, religious, or recovery institution with a specific arts related project.

    • Profits from any event or special project of the requesting organization shall be used to promote the arts in Medina County.

    • The mission of the requesting organization or for a specific project must have an arts focus.

    • The Medina County Arts Council does not provide funds for tangible property (i.e. paint, costumes, equipment, etc.) therefore grant applications should not request monies to purchase these types of items.

    • Appropriate requests include financial support for general operating expenses, or for special projects such as guest artists’ fees, play royalties, publicity, etc.

    • The funds must be used within the calendar year awarded (Jan. 1-Dec.31, 2024)

    • Submit a completed online grant application before March 31, 2024 deadline

    • Proof of 501(c)(3) status by including the Internal Revenue Service letter of determination of nonprofit status OR proof of application for status OR proof of not-for-profit determination if not a 501(c)(3) organization.

    • A budget must be submitted at the time of application by sending it to medinacoartscounci@gmail.com. This estimate of expenses should also show anticipated sources of income including other grants and admission receipts.

    • Planning for your publicity and programs must include the use of the Arts Council logo and a statement crediting the MCAC with financial support. Use of the logo and support statement must continue in published materials for 12 months after the receipt of the grant. If you are awarded a grant, you will receive copies of the logos that apply.

    • A final report form must be submitted within 60 days after the end of your project or grant period. You will receive a copy of this form with notification that your grant application has been approved. Succeeding grant applications will not be heard until previous grants have been closed by receipt of the Final Report.

    • All grant recipients are required to send a representative to the 2025 Annual Meeting, held in February to provide a five minute verbal final report to the MCAC Board of Trustees.


Congratulations to Our 2023 Grantees!

Medina County Arts Council (MCAC) awardes a total of $5,000 in 2023 to county organizations with an arts-centered focus or arts related projects.

MCAC is pleased to announce the 2023 Organization Grant Recipients! These grants will allow organizations to provide opportunities to learn and experience artistic expression and make art accessible to all in Medina County.

  • Wadsworth Community Radio 97.1 FM & On the Web – For production and airing of Wadsworth schools and Wadsworth Community Band Christmas programs.

  • Medina Chorus - For operating expenses to include purchase of music, director and accompanist fees, rehearsal and performance hall rental.

  • Planet Joy Studio/Peaceworks - To support operating costs such as supplies to help empower artists to expand their creativity skills and art mediums.

  • Medina Community Band – To provide operating expenses for the costs of presenting 8-10 concerts a year.

  • Buckeye Community Theatre – To cover the cost of musical scripts for Actors and Directors for the production of “Legally Blonde” - open to all county students.

  • Hope Recovery Community- For funds to be used to hire a Peer Recovery Art Specialist to oversee Art of Recovery programming for adults and children impacted by addiction.

  • Integrated Community Solutions – To pay for guest artist instructor once a month for one year for this organization that provides programming for children, teens and adults living with developmental disabilities.

  • Main Street Wadsworth/Downtown Wadsworth – To secure the services of a professional artist who will design and create an art mural in downtown Wadsworth.

*** The primary support for MCAC grants come from contributions entrusted to us through gifts and annual fundraising events.
